This is a preliminary meditation and reflection on the first of four traditional establishments — or foundational bases — for a robust, deep mindfulness practices. It refers to the fourth establishment: contemplating the body. If explored more deeply, and in conjunction with the other three – contemplating feelings, mind and body — the identified practices can support the development of insight and wisdom more capable of navigating both the internal and external challenges of a rapidly changing world. Offered by Rhonda V. Magee. Magee is trained in a variety of approaches, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and is a life-long student of more traditional teachings, including Zen and early Buddhism. She teaches contemplative approaches to law and offers mindfulness-based practices and pedagogy at the University of San Francisco School of Law.
