Deepening the Roots of Wellbeing

In the last Session, we explored how to embrace possibility and engage with novel opportunities, and doing so, we may have sensed some of the ways that doing so brings us both subtle confidence and joy. It can give us an energy for doing more to infuse our lives with meaning and purpose.

In this Session, we pause to cultivate the commitment to beginning again.

By now, you may be starting to feel more alive to possibility, even amid all that can get in the way of growth and positive change. How do we strengthen our capacity for new contact and the actual experience of opening to the present moment? This week we’ll deepen our capacity for joy and positive engagement with others in a changing world by deepening our willingness to actually begin again.

Reflection:

This is a chance to reflect on your habits and patterns around truly letting go of the past, the last thing, the old; and, simply beginning again or anew, with the lightness that comes with a clear, fresh sense of the opportunity presented by new circumstances.

Meditation:

This is a 31 minute Guided Meditation on Beginning Again. The meditation will invite you to focus on establishing mindfulness of feeling tones as a support of building the necessary insight into the impermanence of feelings. This insight supports the development of mental flexibility, resilience and the courage in the face of challenging feelings that we need for a major reset and restart. Whether by choice, or as a result of necessity and loss, this practice can help you cultivate beginner’s mind – and the feeling of being rooted in your resources for wellbeing as you practice beginning again.
