Grounding and Orienting

Deepening the Roots of Wellbeing

In this Session, we consider how mindfulness supports settling into a sense of belonging in any moment. Grounding in the present moment, establishing our contact with the body where it is, with the breath flowing through it, provides a foundation for feeling inherently “at home.” If we’re feeling anxious, we can take specific steps to remind ourselves of our being safe or brave enough where we are. And once we are reminded of our relative safety, we can drop into the moment that we are in, and access its capacity to refresh and restore. We can rest right here. From that place, we can open up with curiosity to what’s here, and explore opening orientations that enhance us in connecting with that which can enrich us, wherever we happen to find ourselves.
